Summary

Summary

Summary

  • Zalando Lounge offered deep discounts but faced high drop-off during the size selection step.

  • Customers struggled with:

  • Mixed size formats (EU, UK, US) shown side-by-side.

  • Illogical ordering and grouping of size options.

  • No way to quickly find their preferred size.

  • The size filter became a bottleneck in the conversion funnel—especially during high-traffic sales.

  • I saw a clear opportunity to:

    • Reduce friction in the filtering step.

    • Enable faster product discovery.

    • Increase order volume without changing pricing, inventory, or promotions.

Users didn’t need another dropdown or modal. They just needed a fast way to jump to their size. Inspired by patterns in ecommerce search behavior, I proposed a low-lift but high-leverage idea: Add a search bar to the size filter.

  • Partnered with data analysts to track how users interacted with the size filter; most dropped off after scanning just 2–3 screen lengths

  • Audited top shopping apps and found that most size filters lacked structure, personalization, or searchability—especially on mobile

  • Explored multiple layout options (2–5 column variants) and adjusted row spacing to improve scanability

  • Selected a 5-column layout based on positive feedback from usability testing and internal design critiques

  • Conducted quick feedback loops with internal users and power shoppers; the search bar consistently reduced confusion and improved filter usability

I implemented a basic search input field at the top of the size filter.
No backend overhaul. Just frontend logic and a clean UI slot.
